Track your AA baggage

To track it, go to, www.aa.com/baggage

• Here, scroll down a bit, and at the middle right side, you will get five side by side blocks. Here click on the last one, ‘Track your bags’.

In the next page type,

• Last name, required.

• Search by

• Record locator

• Then, click on, ‘Search’ in blue.

You will get to track the baggage.

Logging into AA baggage

For this you have to go to, www.aa.com/baggage

Here, at the top of the page, at the left side of the language option, click on, ‘Login’.

In the next page at the middle, type,

• AAdvantage or username

• Last name

• Password

• Then, click on, ‘Login’.

You will be logged in.

Forgot login info

If you have lost the login info, in the login page, under the password blank, click on, ‘Need password’.

In the directed page type,

• This feature is currently available on domestic flights within and between the U.S, including Hawaii and Alaska.

• You can choose to pay for up to 3 bags when you check in (starting 24 hours and up to 4 hours before departure) on aa.com or in the app. You’ll get an email confirmation with instructions on where to drop bags at the airport.

• If you are checking more than 3 bags, you can add more at the airport according to your bag allowances.

• The pre-paid bags feature is currently only available on aa.com or in the app.

• Indicate you plan to check bags when checking in on aa.com or in the app and our systems will automatically recognize any free bag allowances.

• 4 passengers are on the same PNR and you choose to pre-pay for 4 bags at the rate of $30 each. The online price will be $120 as if each person paid for their first checked bag. This rate is lower than the charge for a single person checking 4 bags.

• When traveling on a military fare. If you’re not traveling on a military fare show your military ID at the check-in counter to receive complimentary bags.

• If your flight is cancelled, the standard bag refund policy would apply.

• Checked and carry-on pet charges must be paid for at the airport.

• If you pay for your bags online the bag charges are non-refundable.

• You can make changes to your flight based on the rules of your ticket and the pre-paid bags will be moved to your new trip in most cases.

• If you decide not to travel on your original itinerary, bag charges are non-refundable.

• If you purchase or get an upgrade that includes free checked baggage, at a later time, your previously purchased bag fees are non-refundable.

• Pay for your checked bags online for travel on domestic flights within and between the U.S., including Hawaii and Alaska.

• Sports equipment and musical instruments policies and fees have been updated as of May 21, 2019

• Seasonal date changes for checked bags have been updated as of August 14, 2019.

• All bag fees are non-refundable and apply per person, at each check-in location, each way, even if you purchase or get an upgrade that includes free checked bags. AA calculate the size limits of your bag by adding the total outside dimensions of each bag, length + width + height.

For all regions, your checked bag allowance is:

• Dimension: 62 in / 158 cm

• Weight: 50 lbs / 23 kgs

• For First / Business, weight is 70 lbs / 32 kgs


Complimentary bags

In some cases, you won’t have to pay the fees for up to 3 bags. If you qualify for complimentary bags based on elite status, the benefits are based on your highest status level at time of ticketing or check-in.

If your status level is:

• Higher at ticketing than at check-in, show your ticket receipt to the airport agent

• Lower at ticketing than at check-in, current benefits will automatically apply

• 1st checked bag is complimentary for:

• Eligible AAdvantage Aviator and Citi / AAdvantage cardmembers (on domestic American Airlines operated itineraries)
